Ellen’s got its name from the owner’s mother: a woman famous in the family for burning more meals than she served. What started as an inside joke became a promise: everything here is made from scratch, with love, the way Southern comfort should be.

I had a great breakfast here! I got the shrimp and grits and it was delicious! It was nice and hot temperature wise! The service was also great! Sarah was my server and she went above and beyond! I can’t wait to return when I visit Dallas again!

In Dallas for the weekend. Walked to Ellen’s from our hotel and had a nice meal. Very pleased with Grits Benedict as I eat Gluten free. Seated without a wait for a late dinner.

What a way to have grits. Fried grits with blue berries oh my, heavenly! Fried Crabmeat! And the last one was fried cheese! Definitely will go back.
